Confused about texas pocket springs 14.75g with quadmini vs 15.5g only

I am 6’0" 215 pounds, with a current setup of 14.75g base springs and the quadmini. What im wondering, are the base coils even doing any work in this situation? They seem quite firm and i get the feeling the quadmini is holding majority of the load.

I wonder if at my weight i could have been fine with the 15.5g set only. Im not sure how much the quad mini is helping in comparison to the standard medium set.

Good question.

The 14.75 is working with the base unit. The 14.75 is a firm unit. So the overall feel at your weight will be firm.

I’m 5’8” 155 and sleep in the same set up with 2” of medium latex. I prefer a firm feel and slep in my stomach.

Are you a side sleeper?

If you take off the mini and lay in the base unit, how does it feel from a compression standpoint?

Feels super solid. I do mostly back and some side. I guess that there’s more of a cradling effect with the quadmini and in order to use it it’s better to have it sitting on the 14.75 cause the whole structure could be too soft with it on top of the 15.5, that’s what I’ve read

So i imagine when you are on your back it feels fine, but when you go in your side your not getting the pressure leaf that you need?

Well actually the build feels great, i do a thin plush layer, then a 2" medium-soft latex/memory foam hybrid layer that i bought from brandon at nest and wild. I just know he uses the 15.5g springs and i liked his hybrid alot when i tried it. Was theorizing really what the advantage is to having the 14.75 with mini spring vs the 15.5 on its own

Brandon is great guy. I’m glad he helped you out. His unit is a bit different than the 1008 we sell on Pocket Spring Store. In fact his 15.5 is a lightly more plush than the 1008 PSS unit.

The QuadMini on 15.5 still acts as a comfort layer so it will give more cushion or hug your body more than if you just had the 15.5.
