I’m probably going to go with Arizona Premium Mattresses for my talay purchases, as you have the best prices I can find right now, and I am impressed by your customer service. But I have a few questions before I make my final decision:
What is your return policy? I don’t see it listed anywhere, but perhaps I’m looking in the wrong place…?
On your site it says that you do not recommend 14 ILD for people over 150 lbs. Why is this?
Does this recommendation hold true regardless of what is beneath the 14 ILD topper?
Are there any appreciable differences between your Rejuvenite Talalay Toppers compared to your DIY toppers with your bamboo cases?
Our return policy is listed in our FAQ section. 14 ILD is extremely soft and if you are over 150 lbs. you will most likely go right through it. The other issue is it won’t hold up as well as the slightly firmer #19 ILD. I’m 170 lbs. and use 3" of #19 over my latex mattress and it works perfect for a side sleeper like myself. I even take a twin size with me when I travel to put on top of a hotel bed to get the comfort I need plus the air flow lacking in most hotel beds using memory foam.

What if you have 2 very different sized individuals? We’re both side-sleepers, but I’m 125, he’s 260 with chronic shoulder pain in both shoulders from an old injury. (We now have a 3" 16 ILD Dunlop & soy-based foam (50/50) topper with 1" tufted cover of bamboo fabric & natural wool, which is too firm for both of us.)
We’re thinking we should go with a 3" 14 ILD blended talalay topper, but your comment (above) has us rethinking.
What I would recommend is a dual firmness topper 19/14 which you won’t find the option to order online. The work around is to order one or the other but in the comment section of our order form write “please make this topper 19/14” and since the orders all come to my desk I’ll make the correct notes for production.
It’s hard to compare without knowing the specs of that soy based polyfoam but realistically 16ILD Dunlop is almost certainly going to offer less in the way of pressure relief than 19ILD Talalay given the progressive firm feeling of Dunlop, the more you compress it, the firmer it becomes. Where as Talalay is pretty uniform in its firmness under a load.
Sounds like you guys are using a great spec for the top layer given the 3" thickness of it. We have some 14ILD stuff and its got merit but wouldn’t usually want to use more than 1" of it for people unless they had really serious pressure issues.
