DLX LatexLux Hybrid vs Avacado

I’ve tested the Avacado green mattress line and like the medium mattress. It’s the only latex topped mattress that I’ve tested and really enjoyed the feeling but did not enjoy the price. How does the DLX LatesLux compare in how it feels to sleep on it?

@DLX

Thanks for considering DLX!

Our LatexLux won’t be an exact match to the Avocado Green, but it can be in the ballpark depending on what stood out to you about that mattress. A few differences worth noting (and they don’t make one mattress better than the other—just different in terms of feel and preferences):

  • The Avocado has only a layer of wool above the latex, so you’ll get a more direct latex feel—bouncier and a bit firmer overall.
  • Our LatexLux, on the other hand, has 1.5" of foam plus rayon fiber quilted into the top. That helps mellow out the feel a bit—still giving you the benefits of latex, but with a slightly more cushioned and traditional top feel.
  • Avocado also uses hand tufting, which compresses the materials and can result in a firmer feel overall.

One key advantage of the LatexLux is that the 3" latex comfort layer inside is accessible. That means if you find you need a different feel after sleeping on it, we can send you a firmer or softer layer to swap in—no need to replace the whole mattress.

If you’re looking for an approximation, our LatexLux 12" Soft is probably the version you’d want to compare. If the Avocado Green Medium was one of many mattresses you liked, there’s a good chance you’d find our mattress comfortable. If it stood out head and shoulders above everything else you tried, though, ours might feel a little too different.

Thank you for the quick response. The feel, for me, of the Avacado Green Pillow Top was a welcome change from the rest of the mattresses. I had been seriously considering the Helix Midnight Luxe but after laying on the Avacado I realized I liked the feel of latex. Now I’m just stuck trying to find that feel but at a lower price point. Thanks again for the information about the DLX LatexLux hybrid. It feels like a potential option.
