Firm, wool, inner springs?

New here, on the search like everyone else. Just starting.
On a recent trip to England we slept on a Marks and Spencer wool and sprung mattress with a feather down topper. It was amazing. If I could get an M&S mattress in the US I would.
I thought parachute would be promising because of the wool but it was just ok. It felt more squishy than I thought it would.
I realized I like an old school spring mattress with good edge support and I like firm. I don’t think bed in a box is gonna work. I also don’t like sinking or bouncing around. I also tried the firmest purple but I just don’t like that gel or foam feeling. I hate memory foam omg hot and I hate that impression that happens. nope!
Currently my tall husband and I sleep on a Serta smart perfect from 2013. Honestly it’s not even too bad at this point but sleeping on that M&S bed made me realize it’s time.
Any suggestions for say an old school spring, firm with some wool tucked in there?
thanks

Old school springs are open coil springs. They are super expensive to ship: it costs $1000 to ship from NY to CA. That’s why you should visit local manufacturers who can make a custom mattress using wool and old school springs.
Charles H Beckley makes old school mattress and ships to any state, but you have to pay for the shipping.

This is one of the closest mattress like the M&S that is available. RoyalPedic has a wool, cotton and spring mattress. I believe that @TheCleanBedroom may be able to shed some light on that.

Hopefully you find your mattress.

Hello moon,

Welcome to the Mattress Underground!

Maverick was correct in saying that Royal Pedic might be what you are looking for.

Another option is Vispring. Their Devonshire mattress has a layer of pocketed springs surrounded by wool. You can choose the tension to be a firmer tension, if that is your preference - and add a topper if you need/want some cushioning.

They come in a range of prices, with the Devonshire being more on the lower end, but still high-quality and a 30 year warranty.

Best of luck to you in your search! Let us know if we can help.

Royal Pedic uses Texas Pocket Springs premium glue free pockets in some of their builds.

I sleep on a Parachute now and love it but in the future want something slightly firmer while still being 100% coils cotton and wool. Have you looked at the McRoskey Sunset?
