Hi! I am in desperate need of help finding the right mattress for a person suffering from neck pain/headaches and lower back pain. I had a wonderful Sealy Posturepedic mattress for around 15 years that was so comfortable. I replaced it in the fall of 2023 and have been on a failing streak with several mattresses that aren’t working at all. Can you guys please help me figure out why I keep choosing things that are such epic fails, and point me in a better direction? I’m not sleeping at all right now and am running out of money. I also am running into problems with mattresses that feel great in the store and feel like an entirely different product when I get it home (IE: the memory foam feels entirely different, or a mattress feels way to firm)
- Sterns and Foster Lux Estate Soft Pillowtop: too squishy, felt like I was sinking down too far, and hated the wallowy memory foam (exchanged)
- Denver Mattress Plush: too soft, felt like I didn’t have any back support (exchanged)
- Denver Mattress Plush Elite: Ditto, plus I hated the cooling cover (exchanged)
- Beautyrest Pressuresmart Plush: this mattress broke the box spring underneath it, and Mattress Firm isn’t letting me exchange or warranty it out. Currently, the mattress is bowing in the middle and causing excruciating back pain. Plus, even before it started bowing it felt horrifically firm in all the wrong spots. (I still have this, unfortunately)
- Therapedic Berkshire - feels like a totally different mattress than in the store. The memory foam is extremely squishy and unsupportive. My neck and head sink backwards into the mattress and I wake up with headaches (I still have this one)
- American Star - a budget mattress the Mattress Firm guy talked me into. After a few months this has worn in all the wrong places and is so uneven.
- Sterns and Foster Soft - oh my gosh, WAY too soft - absolutely no back support, causing terrible headaches (I still have this one)
- Serta Perfect Sleeper Chattahoochie - Whatever kind of zoned support they have means that my shoulders feel pushed forward and my lumbar region has no support, which is wrecking my back.
- Sterns and Foster Lakewood - way too firm, moved my ribs out of place. Horrendous.
