Hi, so I bought a dream cloud premiere, which was such a terrible mistake. We sunk down to the foundation. It was awful. Me and my husband are about 200 pounds. We are both side sleepers. We were coming off a 10 year old firm perfect sleeper with a euro top that we absolutely loved and adored, and it had just gotten worn out. So after I return the dream cloud premiere, I bought a Posturepedic pro London firm with pillow top. I’ve had that for two months the neck pain that I have is insurmountable. I’m in a constant strain and I’ve given it more than enough break in time. I’m still within 120 day window for an exchange through Raymore and Flanigan. I went into the showroom. I tried a lot of mattresses. I really did like the helix midnight locks. My concern is that it’s another bed in a box like the dream cloud premiere, which was AWFUL. Of course it’s so hard to find any sort of like unbiased reviews. Everything is so heavily into advertisement and from what I can read, they’re telling me that the helix midnight looks is similar to the Dreamcloud premiere and now I’m having a panic attack. They don’t deliver until Friday so I have time to cancel.

I wouldn’t let the fact that the Helix Midnight Luxe comes in a box be a deciding factor. “Bed-in-a-box” simply refers to the shipping method, not the quality of the mattress. There are very high-quality mattresses that are compressed for shipping, just as there are traditionally delivered mattresses that use lower-quality materials.
In your case, I think the more meaningful comparison is what’s inside the mattress. While no one can predict whether the Helix will be the perfect match for you, I do consider it to be a step above the DreamCloud Premier in terms of the quality of its materials. The Helix uses denser comfort foams and a more substantial zoned coil unit, which generally translates to better durability and support over time.
Your experience with the DreamCloud doesn’t necessarily predict what your experience with the Helix will be. Aside from both being hybrid mattresses that ship compressed, they have very different designs and use different quality materials.
Based on what you’ve shared, I would place much more weight on how your body responded to the Helix in the showroom than on the fact that it arrives in a box. The shipping method isn’t what determines whether a mattress is a suitable match, its design and how well it keeps you in good alignment are far more important.

Sure, it’s “similar” but that’s because they’re both beds with springs, and memory and polyfoams on top.
What they, the people telling you it’s the same bed don’t understand is that helix uses a higher grade spring base, the foams are higher quality and so is the cover. Which means it’s a better mattress.
