My wife and I are needing to upgrade our mattress situation and I’m torn between the two choices above.
My fear is that, in case we need more plushness or support the hybrid isn’t conducive to upgrading with a topper as we could if we went with a Roma. Plus if we did put a topper on a hybrid we’d lose out on the nice cotton and wool cover.
We are both side/back sleepers with back problems and experiencing sore shoulders upon waking. Me 5’8"/200lbs, she 5’/150lbs.
I’m heavily leaning toward the Roma but just need some assurance from any knowledgeable users or professionals.
We would use it on our existing adjustable base.
Thanks in advance

Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to us!
Both the Roma and Hybrid mattresses can absolutely accommodate a topper if you find them too firm. That said, we sell a large volume of both models, and it’s quite rare for customers to come back needing a topper. Based on feedback, both offer a medium to medium-plush feel on their softer side for individuals weighing 200 lbs or less.
The key differences are that the Hybrid model features pocket coils, which provide a bit more bounce and responsiveness, while its firm side is slightly firmer than the firm side of the Roma.
If you decide to go with either model, we recommend trying the mattress on its own first. If you or your wife happen to experience any pressure point discomfort, you could then add a topper for extra relief. But at your current weights, both mattresses should provide a comfortable balance of contouring and support.
Thanks again for reaching out, and feel free to contact us with any other questions!
Best regards,
Jeremy
