I am 5’8 150lbs and a side sleeper.
I have owned a sealy hybrid trust hybrid mattress for almost 5 years, I love this mattress, however my room mate needs a mattress so I am going to give him mine, I think us-mattress had my trust at 4.5 comfort scale “firm”. I see sealy has a new hybrid called “Sealy Posturepedic Hybrid Premium Silver Chill Plush Mattress” for 1799. It has a comfort scale of 6.0 so would this be too soft for me as a side sleeper?
I’ve had mine for 5 years @ 4.5 comfort, and its broken in and extremely comfortable but I wished I had a slightly softer bed for me side sleeping. I also ran into a mattress called "Temperpedic Pro-adapt medium. They are rating this bed as a 5.0 comfort. but the bed/boxspring/etc is going to run me 3000!
Will the temperpedic outlast the sealy hybrid? 1799 vs 3000. The sealy claims a double cooling factor in the fabric cover and in the gel. While the Temperpedic only claims the mattress cover has some initial cooling. Now, I have no idea if my current bed has any cooling properties and I sleep fine, but I do have a bedroom in the 2nd floor of my house, so cooler would be better. Which would probably be cooler?
Between these two mattress’s which would you pick? I want quality, but if the sealy is the better mattress I’d definitely be looking at that instead. I am going to link the beds below for information. I really appreciate any info! I bought my hybrid 5 years ago for 1100 bucks, I love it, but if I am going to be upgrading I want to get a quality bed that will last me. Also, which bed would probably be better for me being 150 lbs 5’8? My partner is 100-110lbs as well.
