Hi I hope you can help 2 60yr olds out - king size, 195/225 lbs and avg / short height, I was looking at the Roma. We both generally start off on side or back but change positions during the night. This will go on a “platform” bed with drawers on the sides like in your photos. I was wondering if this bed, or ordering 2-3” dollop toppers and covering them is adequate. Generally I like a medium/firm feel (like a 6-7 out of 10).
None of the innerspring mattresses seem to be comfy anymore so this would be our first latex.
We have to buy something this week and I felt this (or ordering 2 separate layers) could offer some options.
Also, do the king toppers or the king Roma layers arrive as separate sides (i.e. 2 pieces to a single layer) or is it one gigantic king size piece?
Thank you for reaching out! The Roma is a flippable, two-sided mattress designed to provide versatile comfort. One side offers a medium-plush feel, while the other provides a firm-plush feel. It features two 3" layers of 100% natural Dunlop latex—a medium layer and a firm layer—quilted on both sides with 1.5" of soft CertiPUR foam and finished with an organic cotton knit cover.
The soft foam provides gentle pressure relief, especially for side sleeping, while the latex layers offer the medium-firm support you’re looking for. At your weights and heights, this mattress will provide adequate contouring and support for a comfortable night’s sleep.
If you feel the need for additional pressure relief later, adding a topper is an option. However, we recommend trying the Roma mattress by itself first, as most of our customers do not find a topper necessary.
Regarding sizing: the king Roma mattress comes as one continuous piece, not split into two sides. It is an enclosed mattress with no zippered quilted cover. Toppers are also normally one continuous layer, though a split topper can be ordered if needed—however, we generally do not recommend splitting a topper.
Please let us know if you have any other questions—we’re happy to help!
