I’m new. I’ve been doing a lot of research and reading, and am still finding it hard to decide what to try.
We have a 3 layer latex mattress with quilted cotton/wool cover, I don’t remember what the layers are but some combination of soft and medium. It feels too firm. We’ve decided to try a topper.
I recently slept on a cheap memory foam mattress and like it but I’d like to stick with latex.
I’m about 5’ tall, 120 lbs, mostly side and back sleeper. Shoulder injury and neck back and hip pain. My husband is about 6’4” , 200 lbs, mostly side sleeper. Hip pain and snoring .
I think I’ve settled on Talalay but not sure whether to go soft or medium, and not sure whether 2” is enough. Any suggestions?
A 2" Talalay will help and a 3" will help a lot. Because of the weight difference I would recommend a dual firmness with your side Soft and his side Medium.
Thank you for the suggestion. I’ve seen that mentioned elsewhere but haven’t actually seen it available; would I just get two twin xl layers and place them both in the same cover?
We would bond the 2 layers together as one King size. If you order from us just use the Comment Section when checking out to say “Please bond together as one King”. If you get our topper cover we will also put it on for you.
We also think that a 3" soft Talalay is the right choice for your situation.
Talalay is breathable, responsive, durable, and naturally supportive while still contouring. It should feel more natural than memory foam while addressing the firmness issue.
It’s important to note that blended Talalay will be a bit softer than all natural in the same firmness rating.

That’s good to know about the blended vs natural talalay, thank you. I would want the most natural option but don’t mind if it’s a touch firmer than the blended, especially if we opt for soft for the entire layer. That will be up to my husband and whether he thinks he can tolerate the soft.
