Latex foam mattress talalay, organic or dunlop

Looking at various sites that sell latex foam king mattresses. We would like information on Plush beds, Sleep EZ or recommendations on king sized talalay or dunlop foam. We hesitate to purchase the layered ones as we are senior citizens that would have difficulty moving/ adding different layers. We also would like a flippable mattress as we try to make the mattress last longer.

What does Organic Latex mean?

SleepEZ Roma is flippable latex. Check it out.

Hi helpmesleep2022 and welcome to the Mattress Underground

Looking at various sites that sell latex foam king mattresses

Any mattress you choose will be unique you you both based on your Stats (height, BMI, sleeping position(s) and underlying health issues) and your PPP (Posture & alignment, Pressure relief, and Personal preferences). No one can tell you which mattress to buy or even the best mattress for you…you don’t say what mattress you are currently sleeping on, so let’s’ go with your questions about latex mattresses here.

Any all-latex mattress will be ‘layered’…you want an already built one; as you say. You are not able to easily switch layers aroound as with a DIY. Latex has a very particular feel, and Talalay latex has a very different feel to Dunlop, feeling ‘bouncier’ (the comparison is usually of angel food cake compared to pound cake).

What does Organic Latex mean?

There are several types of latex: SBR (Synthetic), natural, and blended. Natural latex can be organic if the additives do not exceed 5% of materials (such as accelerators foaming agents, curing agents and other materials used to make foam); ‘Organic’ latex is that which has no additional additives to the latex foam added in the molding process. GOLS (Global Organic Latex Standard) Certification indicates the latex is truly organic. You are also correct, in that a ‘flippable’ mattress can add some longevity to your sleep system…you can see with the Mattress Specifications You Need To Know and compared to the Mattress Durability Guidelines Latex is one of the most durable mattress materials you can have. If you are not familiar with different latex firmnesses, you may want to take advantage of any local showrooms just to try Talalay or Dunlop, as well as plush, medium firm and firm latex to see exactly which makes you both feel comfortable.
