Looking for an ultra firm mattress

Hi experts,
I have been facing a lot of challenges with my back since 2018. I have tried and tested a lot of things (physical therapy, massage etc) but I came to realize that my mattress without any support was the issue. For the time being, I’m sleeping on the carpeted floor with a 2 inch cotton mattress which is working ok for me.
I sleep in every position and I have realized that when i sleep on the tummy on a mattress, i get a lot of back issues and have tried to fix the tossing up in the night but it still happens sometimes because i dont realize that.
I am in the market right now to purchase a mattress which is brick hard.

So far, I liked the Myrbacka Ikea firm mattress but I’ve heard that it doesnt have great support and may sag after a while. I’m planning to keep a plywood (3/4 inch) under in on a platform bed.
Also i liked beautyrest PressureSmart 20 firm 13 inch mattress but I’m not ready shell out $1800 as of now and their restocking fees is high.

Also, To give you an idea, In the past at my home country, i have used this mattress and this is amazing and had fixed my back issues when i was there for few months. I love it so much that i had given a thought to get it ship in a container but wasnt feasible:

I have also used some high density foam mattress in Canada ( for around $400 usd) and it worked very well for me but I’m not able to get the same thing in Atlanta, Ga
I also like inner spring / hybrid. Open to latex but i have never tried it.
I’ll currently living in Atlanta, GA and found a decent local shop here and planning to visit it soon as well:
Mattress and more

please help me out and suggest any mattress? Any local trusted matteress factories/providers?

Hi gm2611.

Welcome to our Mattress Forum.

As a newbie to the forum, you may find our Mattress Shopping Tutorial and Durability Guidelines really useful. And, to directly answer your question as to who we trust and recommend, you can find our Trusted Members here.

Previously someone else mentioned looking to purchase coconut coir (which is usually a stabilization layer) as their brick hard mattress. These seems similar to what you shared (the rubberised coir) and may be worth investigation for your purposes!

Please let us know how your testing goes and what questions arise for you during that process.

Take a look at this sleeponlatex natural-latex-mattress
They sell Dunlop only latex and it is quite firm.
I’ve gotten toppers from them and their latex is known to be firmer than most.
They also have great support people and CEO answers every single feedback review. Amazing
Good luck

Thanks @hester, for the recommendation; it’s tough to make suggestions based on such a subjective concept as ‘ultra-firmness’…as any two people can have wildly varying ideas of what ‘firm’ feels like…nothing beats ‘lived experience’ for items like this and the insight of the forum community!

Thanks Basilio.
I also can confirm they have a very good and generous return policy

@hester - thanks, the return policy is often the most important aspect, especially when ‘dialing in’ to a suitable comfort level! Great to hear you had an awesome customer service experience.
