Lower back pain - looking at LMF options

Hello!

I am suffering from a lot of lumbar pain recently I believe because of my old mattress, as it comes back every morning. I am looking at the latex options at LMF for a new bed. I’m unsure of which option would be best.

I am 5’5 and weigh 158 lbs, Curvy figure
I am a side sleeper / sometimes back sleeper

My partner is 5’9 and 165 lbs
He is an allover sleeper but has no pain.

Based on your heights and primary sleeping positions, I recommend starting with the soft setup: a soft layer over medium over firm configuration. The soft top layer addresses pressure points, the medium layer acts as a transition, and the firm bottom layer offers foundational support.

For greater flexibility, I suggest splitting all three layers down the middle. This way, each of you can adjust your side of the mattress independently. For example, if one of you finds the S/M/F setup too soft, you could unzip the cover, rearrange the layers, and move the firm layer to the middle, creating a firmer S/F/M configuration. Conversely, if the mattress feels too firm, you could exchange a layer for a softer one. For instance:

  • Swap the firm layer for another medium layer (S/M/M) for a bit more pressure relief.
  • Swap for an additional soft layer and try setups like S/S/F or S/S/M for a significantly softer surface.

When exchanging a layer, you have up to 30 days to experiment with your new layer and finalize your setup before returning the unwanted one. Returning a layer is easy—just call our office, and we’ll schedule a FedEx pickup for you.
