Looking at your Luxerion Hybrid Latex Mattress, and wondering what the firmness of the Latex layer is?
And if it would be a good choice for a 240-245lbs side sleeper?

Hello,
Thank you for reaching out with your inquiry. The 3" comfort layer is a soft 19-20 ILD natural Talalay latex. This soft layer over the 6" pocket coils provides an overall medium-plush feel for individuals weighing less than 200 lbs. For those weighing between 200 lbs and about 230 lbs, it offers an overall soft feel.
To be honest, your weight is close to the cutoff where we typically wouldn’t recommend this mattress. We’ve found that the soft Talalay is simply too soft for people weighing near or over 230 lbs.
I suggest considering a DIY approach. You can build a similar mattress by purchasing individual components. If you choose this route, I recommend a medium 3" comfort layer over the 6" coils. Then, order the 9" cotton and wool quilted zipper cover. This setup will provide the contour you need on top, while the pocket coils below will offer both pressure relief and support.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any additional questions.
Ok thanks I use a adjustable base and worry about a DIY shifting around since I imagine the layers aren’t stuck together and just stacked in a cover.
We ship about 30 adjustable bases per month that go out with layered latex mattresses and we get zero complaints about the layers shifting or anything like that. There’s so much friction between the layers that even if you were to pull or push them as hard as you can, you’ll tear the layer in half before you get it to slide with respect to the rest of the layers. This really shouldn’t be an issue for you.
Aside from that, though, we glue the latex layer to the coils anyway. Just FYI, we use a non-toxic water-based glue that is Green Guard certified against harmful chemicals and off-gassing.
