Hello,
I am way deep into this now. Striking a balance between comfort and support. I need help building a latex hybrid vs All latex King mattress.
Wife: 5’3" 120lb, side, back sleeper
Me: 5’9" 175lb , side, back sleeper. Expert recommendations greatly appreciated.
Im leaning towards hybrid but maybe i should be leaning towards all latex. I prioritize pressure relief, motion transfer , edge support , cooling (in that order). I want the mattress to do just enough hugging to feel I’m sleeping slightly in the mattress and not on top. Firmness im shooting for medium soft…5 -5.5/10 .
My build hybrid mattress…
Coils: 8 inch quantum edge
Elite Bolsa. (From what i have read 16g coils perimeter and 15g in middle; its better than combi zones 8 inch pocket coils for side sleepers)
On top of that 3 inches of plush talalay latex 20-24ILD
OR
2 inches medium talalay 25-29ild and at the very top of the mattress 2inches plush talalay 20-24ild.
Question: Between these two options i would think the first option would be softer but will it provide enough support to avoid too much sinkage.
My build all latex mattress
From bottom up.
3 inch dunlop firm, 3 inch dunlop med, 2 inch talalay medium, 3 inch talalay soft.
Which would be better for me you think. I know the all latex mattress with multiple layers of latex of different densities affords more options but its also more expensive and probably less bounciness and cooling.
-Bamboo/wool mattress cover
-14 inch tall heavy duty steel platform with steel slats or 2 boxsprings.
I greatly appreciate any recs.
Cheers
JL
