MFC Cumulus vs Casper Wave Hybrid Snow

Hey Guys,

I’m very interested in both of these mattresses. I’m wondering what the differences are in quality. The Casper has Gel Pods, “Heat Delete” bands and “zoned support”. I’m not sure how much is legit, and how much is marketing.

The Casper (with all these layers) is 13-14”, and the Cumulus is 12”

How do they compare in firmness, and edge support?

Does the MFC material compare to Casper’s “snow” material?

Thank you

Good morning Jweatherbie,

Welcome to TMU!

Comparing these 2 mattresses is like comparing apples to oranges.

The Cumulus Hybrid Latex Mattress is made of 7” Platt and Leggett innersprings and 2 x 2” layers of organic dunlop latex layers encased in an organic cotton cover. The coils provide better edge support that foam and help reduce the feeling of roll-off at the edge of the bed. The Cumulus organic dunlop latex layers are superior and will outlast the poly-foam used in the Casper. Furthermore, unlike memory foam, Dunlop latex is neutral and does not build up any heat. The wool quilted organic cotton cover regulates temperature and humidity and does not contain any synthetic fibres.

It’s impossible to compare the firmness of these 2 mattresses without trying them. The advantage of the Cumulus is that the 2 top Dunlop latex layers can be rearranged or exchanged to fine tune your comfort and support preferences.

I hope this helps you make an informed decision, please let me know if you need more information,

Cheers!

Hi Mario,

Thanks for your reply! The Wave Hybrid is Casper’s hybrid model with coils:

One of the layers is “engineered latex”… which sounds like a marketing term for a blend perhaps?

The zoning was slightly noticable in store, but the gel pods etc are what I would think are mostly gimmick.

Rearranging layers and Dunlop Latex are certainly selling features!
