Hello, new here and reading a massive amount of posts. I haven’t really found the answers yet that I’ve been looking for.
I’m wondering what the difference is between MFC and Natures Embrace? Are they separate companies? Are their products made by the same company? They seem to be located in the same place but different products and prices online although they have very similar products, wording, explanations, and policies.
We used to sleep on an 8" memory foam mattress. So we are wondering if we need an 8", 10", or 12" latex mattress. I guess I’m wondering if 8" memory foam is comparable to 8" latex and why going to 10" or 12" might be beneficial. I understand they are completely different and firmness makes a huge difference. I’m just wondering for actual thickness if it would be comparable. I have read through all the weight info and sleep position info. I’m just thinking if we have already been used to 8" memory foam then is there a reason to go thicker. Also I f the 12" is on sale for the same price as the 8" do you just get the 12"? I’m not sure I want a bed that high but if it’s better then maybe.
I’m wanting a layered latex mattress that I can customize at home. So far I’m leaning towards MFC or Natures Embrace. Not sure on 8",10" or 12". The only differences I can tell are MFC uses virgin wool and Natures Embrace uses either Joma wool or organic wool. Also I think Natures Embrace has covers on every layer. I have read about the covers so don’t need help on that. Any thoughts on Joma, Virgin, or organic wool? Or any other differences I’m missing from the two companies?
Also is Natural Embrace similar to the feel of MFC because I can find Natural Embrace in Edmonton to lay on but not MFC. So was hoping if I like Natural Embrace it would crossover to MFC if the layers were the same. Maybe the ILDs are the same for each company with regards to soft, medium, firm layers?
Any other companies to recommend that do the layered customizable at home latex mattress?

It’s not possible to make specific suggestions or recommendations for either a mattress, manufacturers/retailers, or combinations of materials or components because the first “rule” of mattress shopping is to always remember that you are the only one that can feel what you feel on a mattress and there are too many unknowns, variables, and personal preferences involved that are unique to each person to use a formula or for anyone to be able to predict or make a specific suggestion or recommendation about which mattress or combination of materials and components or which type of mattress would be the best “match” for you in terms of “comfort”, firmness, or PPP (Posture and alignment, Pressure relief, and your own personal preferences).

Also is Natural Embrace similar to the feel of MFC because I can find Natural 4. Embrace in Edmonton to lay on but not MFC. So was hoping if I like Natural Embrace it would crossover to MFC if the layers were the same. Maybe the ILDs are the same for each company with regards to soft, medium, firm layers? Yes, we use the same ILD and the mattresses would feel similar
Thank you Mario for your quick response. All your answers made sense I still have a few questions with regards to points 1,2, and 3. If you can add to my below comments I would again really appreciate it. Maybe Phoenix can weigh in as well or other experts on the site. Hopefully I will sort things out this week and purchase a mattress😊
Yes I’ve read this similar response by you in other posts but how does MFC fit into this picture? I understand Renelle is the parent company of Natures Embrace. Is Renelle also a parent company of MFC? Is MFC completely independent of Renelle? Is MFC completely independent of Natures Embrace? Are your products shared or how they are manufactured shared? I’m just wanting a better explanation of the partnership between MFC, Renelle, and Natures Embrace. Maybe you just use the same manufacturing building as it is convenient?
Yes I understand it’s personal preference. I have read that 8" can be okay for some and thought maybe if we have already been comfortable on 8" memory foam that it would be an indication that 8" of latex would probably work as well if gotten in a similar firmness. But maybe it’s not possible to answer that.
Is there any other differences between the two companies products that I’m missing other than the type of wool? Or are they basically the same? Same quality of workmanship? Same type of quality of covers, stitching, production? I can’t see them in person that is why I’m asking. I’m just really trying to figure out even something small that is different between the two companies but they seem pretty much the same which is confusing to me. At this point if I pick two mattresses between the two companies with same specs it would make sense to choose the cheaper one. Unless I’m missing something.
Hopefully this all okay. Please don’t take offence to anything I’m saying I’m just really trying to understand the companies so I can make a decision. I will also call Natures Embrace and talk to them.
MFC is an independent Canadian company. We share and use the same quality organic dunlop latex components and organic cotton covers quilted with Joma wool as NE, but the mattresses are made according to our specifications and assembled in the Canada B.C. Cliveden warehouse.
One thing I can add is that an all latex mattress will feel softer as it’s thicker. For example is you make an 8" organic dunlop latex mattress with only firm latex, the same mattress will feel softer if it’s made with 10" or 12" or firm latex. As I said before, organic dunlop latex is pure rubber and is very supportive and resilient and will feel completely different to memory foam. I suggest you go to a few stores and try some before you decide to make a purchase.
Yes, it’s the same Joma Wool, same quality and workmanship, same quality of organic cotton covers stitched and produced in Canada, but different models, since we use our own distinct organic dunlop latex layer configuration.
Did I answer all your questions?
Please let me know if you need any further information.
Thank you SO much for taking the time to answer all that. And yes you answered everything and the explanation about thickness actually helped a lot. Okay time to go lay on mattresses😊
