New to buying, need help understanding Latex vs hybrid

I’ve been searching and researching mattress options as I have not purchased one in almost 20 years.
I’m understanding that latex or latex coil hybrids are considered the most superior options but I’m struggling to understand how to choose between the 2. I’ve been reading many posts on this site and it seems to me that a latex mattress may have a longer life and may be a better mattress in terms of materials but a hybrid may offer a more traditional feel and therefore may be more comfortable. Is this correct?
Are there any other reasons to choose one over the other that I’m missing?

Re comfort, coming from a nearly 20 year old sagging innerspring mattress I’m trying to figure out how I would know what my comfort preferences. I’m in SE Michigan and it seems that local options that I can actually try are few and far between. I’m also not sure that trying a mattress for a few minutes in a showroom would give me an actual feel for what I find comfortable.

5”4, 225 lbs, side sleeper. I toss and turn a lot in my sleep.

Any advice?

To learn about latex and latex hybrid. You can speak with @Sleep_EZ, @Arizona_Premium

@SDMattressMakers Mattress Makers of San Diego has some great videos on youtube.

Heavier side sleepers are somewhat problematic because you need something softer for the hip and shoulder area to prevent pressure points but you will sacrifice some durability. The nice thing about our latex and hybrid latex models is that we make them with zippered covers so that you have access to the latex itself. That means that you can extend the durability of it by rotating and flipping the top layer every 6 months or so because that’s the part that is taking most of the wear and tear.
Full latex mattresses are the best way to go for most because of the lack of motion transfer and customization options for each person. The Hybrid option is good if money is tight or you don’t mind the extra bounce that you get from the coils. Based on your info here is the link to our model that I think would help solve your issue the best - #1 Selling Latex Mattress- Adjustable Ultra Plush, Latex Mattresses-Talalay and Dunlop, All Products, For the Firmness I would choose Medium/Medium and for the comfort layer choose 3" #28. This will provide both pressure relief and good support. Let me know if you have any questions.
