Ommage sleep - amazing price on Talalay latex

Hi - anyone heard of or been in touch with Ommage?. Not a ton of info on their website, ADMIN NOTE:Removed 404 page link | Archived Footprint: ommagesleep.com

I found them through Amazon - a Queen 10" all latex for $1300 plus $55 shipping. But not sure about their sourcing for the latex, or where this bed fits in the soft/medium/firm spectrum.

Hi halaluya,

Welcome to the Mattress Forum!

I don’t have any personal experience with Ommage Sleep. They are a new latex mattress brand owned by Tomas Eisenberg, a former executive at Talalay Global (formerly Latex International) and Latexco. They started in business in December, 2015.

They offer a few pillows, a topper and a few mattresses. The Balance is listed as an all-latex mattress, using Dunlop with a 2" top with a 6" base. The Natural Luxury is all Talalay latex, with three layers: a 6" core, and two 2" layers above that. They use wool for their FR barrier. They list the latex as natural, but I don’t have confirmation that the latex is indeed 100% NR. Sometimes the nomenclature used to describe latex (especially used in the past by Talalay Global, who I believe supplies the Talalay latex to Ommage) will describe their blended Talalay as “natural”, and their 100% NR Talalay as “all-natural” latex. It can be confusing, so if you’re interested in the product give them a call and let me know if you can get a confirmation on the latex itself. I don’t want to speak for them without complete knowledge. Overall, they seem to use products of a high-quality.

Let us know if you decide to contact them and I’d be interested to know what you learn.

I ended up buying a floor model mattress so didn’t use Ommage. But got an informative email back from the owner - as you said he’s been in the business a long time.and was very willing to work with me to make sure I got what I was looking for. Seems like you should keep him on your list.

Hi halaluya,

Thank you for your update.

If you have any information you’d like to share from your email about the product that you’d like to share I’d certainly be interested to learn about it.

I’ve been aware of the brand, but like so many mattress retailers and brands that have been popping up lately I haven’t had time to make contact with them. But I appreciate you bringing them to the attention of the Mattress Forum!

Phoenix

I found this on their web site:
Made with 100% Talalay latex, the finest luxury latex feel in the world.
Mattress is made in the USA.
Cover is made of certified organic cotton. Fire Retardant (FR) layer is made from New Zealand wool. No harmful chemicals are used to pass fire retardant regulations.

Mattress has three layers of natural Talalay latex.

6″ Base core is medium/firm natural latex (36 ILD)
2″ Medium / Plush talalay latex (24 ILD)
2″ Plush Talalay latex (19 ILD)

Hi clutchless,

Thank you for taking the time to copy those specifications about Ommage. These are also available on their web site, to their credit in being transparent, and the latex is 100% NR from Talalay Global.

(By the way, I took out a small part of your post that was just a little too promotional.)

Thank you for your input!

Hi, I just bought and received one of these mattresses(Lux 10" plush) from Ommage. It was made by Brooklyn Bedding and consists of NR Tallalay latex through out. The owner is very forthcoming about the mattress and the manufacturing. The website is kind of disjointed but all of the information is there. 100 night trial, Free returns and refund after 30 days, Tom the owner even answers the phone if you have any concerns. Quick shipping. too. Very heavy in King size. Fedex driver couldn’t lift it by himself. Looks and seems very well made if a little generic. Bed is fully assembled glued (non toxic) construction.

Hi redliondog,

It’s good to hear you’ve already received your mattress (I remember you posting about it in another thread).

I’m looking forward to your comments after some time spent on the product.

Phoenix

Hi redlion: How is the Ommage working out? I just ordered a king from ommagesleep.com. Hoping I made a decent decision.

Hi cloudrider,

Welcome to the Mattress Forum!

Congratulations on your new mattress purchase!

Which model did you end up purchasing from Ommage?

Phoenix

Hi, Ive been sleeping on the 10" plush mattress for about a month. It started out a little too firm for us but we added a 2" 19ILD NR Talalay topper from Ommage to it at about the 15Th day and now it is awesome. My wife says it is luxurious, I’m more inclined to say decadent. We also received a couple of med Talalay pillows (king) to complete the set. It is an awesome mattress, we both sleep pain free through the night and smile when we lay on it. A good price for a complete NR Talalay Latex mattress .
While it was somewhat of a risk to buy a mattress from such a new company, it worked out good in the end. Except the pillows, everything was manufactured by Brooklyn Bedding (pillows from Latex International).
On another note, Amerisleep made good on their advertising to refund all the previous mattress price and pick up the mattress for free.

Hi redliondog,

Thank you for the update!

I’m very happy that you are sleeping well, and I’m glad that you were able to “fine tune” your mattress with a topper to get the feel that you desired. I’m also happy to see that Amerisleep took care of the refund on your old mattress for you.

While the Ommage company is realtively new, the foam manufacturer (Talalay Global for the pillows and the foam in your mattress) is an established company and they’ve been producing Talalay latex for many years. And as you know, Brooklyn Bedding is a member here and they are an excellent fabricator.

I’m looking forward to your comments on your mattress “down the road”.

redliondog and Phoenix:

Thank you for the information! That news is even more positive than I could have hoped for!! Pleased that redliondog’s wife is happy, too, with her “luxurious” even “decadent” new mattress.

I agree with redliondog. It does seem like a risk, at first, to buy from such a new company. Part of why I ended up joining The Underground. However, any time I have to spend thousands of dollars on something, it feels risky to me. What would be worse is to compromise on quality or to spend too much. So I’m hopeful that I’ve gotten lucky finding this Ommage brand. I wanted all Talalay and as natural as possible at a fair price. I do have allergies to petrochemicals, so was important consideration.

Here’s a funny, not ha-ha, more like funny-weird mattress buying story, have to share it!

After months of reading, I had finally decided to buy from ZenHaven, because I thought at least they were a big company and might stand by their products. I like to buy online with PayPal for security and privacy and ZenHaven website says they offer PayPal.

Here’s the weird part. I spent all my Christmas holiday and into New Year’s trying over and over and over again to get the ZenHaven purchase to go through on PayPal. Was so excited to have finally made a buying decision. The PayPal never worked. The Chat people could not offer a reason. Was so disappointed and annoyed that I could not get mattress-buying off my to-do list.

After a while, started to wonder if maybe my webpage had been hijacked or something. Couldn’t imagine a huge online-only company not being able to FIX their PayPal. Too weird!

Finally, I got so frustrated that I sent a LinkedIn message directly to the CEO of Saatva because I was genuinely amazed and disappointed. Such a nice marketing story they have, ease of purchase, no need to talk to sales people, pretty cover, new and exciting online shopping model - but yada yada and then nada.

In his defense, the CEO of Saatva wrote back to me immediately, over the holidays no less, but he didn’t offer a solution or a timeline as to when the issue might be fixed. 1/6/2017, still broken! So I finally started hunting again for other products. That’s how I found Ommage.

The PayPal went right through, FedEx shipping was free vs $99, and stuff inside seems equal. The punchline is that I saved $800 vs ZenHaven and got to support a new business with a seems-to-be-nice owner.

Sooooo…(gulp, choke) assuming redliondog has called this one right. Fingers crossed, it will work out!

And Phoenix: P.S. I ordered a King 10" natural luxury latex. Started with no topper and will add if needed. I’ll let you know how the gamble pays off. Had no idea how complicated mattress-buying can be before this experience.

Hi Cloudrider,

Congratulations on your new mattress! :cheer: The Ommage mattress you chose certainly does use good quality foams and it should serve you well. I’ll look forward to your comments once you receive the product and have had a chance to try it out for a while.

Thanks for your story. I’m sorry the PayPal experience didn’t work out with you for your Saatva ZenHaven purchase (who knows what the cause of that issue was), but at least you found another product and have crossed this off of you “to-do” list.

Just for reference, as you stated the “stuff inside seems equal”:

Ommage Natural Luxury Latex Mattress (from top – one-sided)
2" 19 ILD Talalay
2" 24 ILD Talalay
6" 36 ILD Talalay Core
Wool FR barrier, Tencel cover using certified organic cotton.
The Talalay is from Talalay Global. I have confirmed it is 100% NR.

Saatva ZenHaven (from top, flippable)
1.5" 5-Zone Talalay (N2 – 20-25 ILD)
3" Talalay (N4 – 30-35 ILD)
3" Talalay (N3 – 25-30 ILD)
1.5" 5-Zone Talalay (N1 – 14-20 ILD)
Wool FR barrier, Knit cover using organic certified cotton.
The Talalay latex is 100% NR from Talalay Global.

Both products use good quality and durable materials. The ZenHaven is a flippable mattress, the Ommage is one-sided. The ZenHaven tends to have a bit more of “firmer” overall feel, with the layers of the Ommage “bending into” each other in a bit more of a gradual transition.

Keep us updated!

Thanks for posting Cloudrider…you were amazing to talk to, thank you!

Thanks redliondog…“decadent” i love that…the plush topper over the base mattress is truly one of the best kept secrets in the industry, more to come on this particular product combination soon! And it’s true I love to talk to every customer possible. Thanks again.

Hi te.ommage,

welcome to the Mattress Forum!, and thanks for joining the conversation!

Phoenix

Hello,I purchased a natural talalay latex mattress from Ommage. Communicated with Thomas by phone and email. He was quick to respond and answered my questions with patience and I feel honestly.
The quality of the mattress is superior. Exactly what I was wanting.
My father is elderly and was having difficulty with his memory foam mattress by the way of not being able to reposition himself during the night. He would sink in and not be able to roll over without great difficulty. Now he is on cloud nine, the Ommage latex mattress has just enough spring were he can roll without difficulty and still has the soft feel, so he has no pressure points. He is extremely happy, and I am blessed that my father can sleep peaceful once again.
Thank you Thomas/Ommage

Hi latexinterest,

Congratulations on your new mattress! :cheer: You certainly chose a product that uses high quality materials. Which Ommage model did you purchase?

I’ll look forward to some comments from your father after he’s had a chance to use the new mattress for a while.

I’m glad you’re happy with your new mattress!

(By the way, I deleted your other post and thread, as it was an exact copy of your post I am replying to, and with the thread title a little too promotional in nature, which goes against the rules of the forum.)

Hello Phoenix,
Apologize for my blunder,my reply was buried under the thread so I started a new one with the intention of praising latex mattresses as a great sleep material, sorry it was to promoting.
In regards to your question I purchased the 10" Natural Luxury Latex Mattress, and my father is so pleased. I will post again later as you request on how he is sleeping on latex.
I love this forum and the wealth of information you provide. Thank you for your care and truthfulness to us as consumers.
I have been sleeping for years on a popular memory foam mattress, and been sleeping very hot, waking up in sweats, allergies and asthma became worse thru the night and upon waking in the morning,I was slow to catch on that it was the mattress, because in general you don’t think your mattress is bad for you,but I am extremely grateful to have learned and figured out what was wrong with my sleep patterns and health concerns. I can now sleep healthy, no allergy&asthma issues thru the night and I have become a latex advocate.
Thank you again for caring and providing such a wealth of information…
Regards,
Donna
