Yes, thankfully I have not had any other horrible nights except for that one. Iām not sleeping that well, but I never have slept well, so I am not blaming the mattress on this one. I have noticed one thing - I am sleeping on my stomach (with a pillow up under my side) more than ever before. I guess maybe the firmer support of this mattress is allowing me to stay in that position longer?
The scent is continuing to dissipate. Maybe one more bedding change and it will be almost gone. Itās not something I notice all the time - just when I lay down or change position.
I just wanted to be sure to mention that the mattress cover is not machine washable. We recommend that you spot-clean the cover with a mild detergent & brush then place the cover in the sun because natural sunlight is excellent at disinfecting wool. The cover is not machine washable because it will shrink.
If I said mattress cover, I meant the one I bought and put over the mattress - Sleep Calm Complete Protection Mattress Protector with Stain and Dust Mite Defense. I probably should have said protector. I didnāt even realize the outside of the Roma came off.
Iāve passed the two-week mark now. I think the mattress will work fine. I continue to find that I am not sleeping much on my back - I think it hurts my tailbone too much and I would need a thin topper. (For what it is worth, after I lost my weight, most things hurt my tailbone.) No issues from sleeping on my side or stomach.
My only real pain now is in my neck and I am pretty sure it is a pillow issue. I will be rotating through the ones I have at home and trying to find one that will work or just purchase another cheap one and retire it when it gets too flat.
Thank you Aaintx! I am happy to hear that your mattress is working out fine. You are correct in regards to neck pain⦠The most common cause of this is the pillow. Sometimes it simply comes down to trial and error when trying different pillows. I would recommend trying a shredded latex pillow that can be altered to create high and low profiles. This can be done in home as long as your pillow has a zipper to remove or add latex if need be.
Thank you for the note about the latex pillow. Two did come with the mattress. I checked and they are zippered, so I would be able to remove some of the shredded latex. Right now they still smell too strong to use by my head, but I am using one as a pillow between my knees. This is good information to keep in mind for the future.
Just wanted to do a followup now that it has been a few more weeks.
I am pleased with the mattress. I have had several good sleeps on it. Last night was not a good night for me, but it was not due to being uncomfortable and the only pain today I have is a bit in my neck.
I only get any latex odor from the mattress when I change out the sheets. I do, though, still get a strong odor from the pillow, but I may be more sensitve than others. I noticed the past few times at the dentist that the smell from the gloves was almost overpowering.
Thank you kindly aaintx for all of your feedback. I am very pleased to hear that your mattress is working out for you! Please donāt hesitate to call our office should you have any questions.
I just wanted to do another update since itās been 3 more months. Still very happy with my mattress.
And the pillow finally no longer smells! Removed one gallon bag of latex and itās working. May actually be ready to slowly add some of the filling back in as things have āsettledā.
I would highly recommend this mattress and company!
Doing an update. Itās been about 1 year now. Still loving the mattress. I rotated it at 6 months so I could break in both sides. Just recently rotated back to original position and it was comfortable from night 1.
Thatās excellent news, thatās what we love to hear! Well the mattress you have now typically lasts 20 years, so if anything comes up in the next 20 years please let us know, weāre always happy to help!
