I am planning to purchase a Spindle Mattress having slept on a Sleep Science Latex Mattress for 5 years. I am close to the Spindle office and I test drove a mattress today. It feels great and very close to the Sleep Science which we love. The only substantive difference is that the Sleep Science is Talalay and the Spindle is Dunlop, and I don’t think it matters to me as long as they perform about the same. Both mattresses have 9" of latex and a fabric/wool cover. We configured the Spindle layers to more or less replicate the feel of the Sleep Science.
When all is said and done, the Spindle Mattress is $1000 cheaper than the Sleep Science purchased at Costco. I understand that Sleep Science is a bigger company, has more overhead, etc. But it feels like an almost apples to apples comparison. Maybe a MacIntosh to a Granny Smith. And it’s $1000 savings. Feels like a no-brainer. Is it?
I would do it but my question is are you replacing your 5 year old Sleep Science or just going to a different size?
Replacing the Sleep Science with same size (QN). Bought the mattress through Costco. It turned out to have a defect and they are refunding my money. I have the option of re-buying the Sleep Science or moving to a lower priced mattress.
I wouldn’t make the same mistake twice. Why not try the Spindle or something else?
