Replicating Mattress - Pillowtop/Boxtop Latex Hybrid

Hi APM,

I’ve been researching on TMU, and visited stores in NYC. So far, we like the EOS Pillowtop and the Avocado Green Boxtop the most. The wife seems to really want a pillow top.

In this process, we aren’t explicitly looking for organic/natural. These are just the products we liked. The discounted sale price is ~$4K-$4.7K for a king, and I’d rather not pay this if it’s mainly for the “organic” story.

Question to you - is it possible to approximate the EOS pillowtop in terms of comfort/feel? We know what softness of coils/latex we likely want, and would be okay with either rubber to get the ILD equivalence correct.

Stats:

  • Male, 5’9", 175lbs, side sleeper. Broad shouldered (42" chest, 31" waist)
  • Female, 5’5", 130/140 lbs, side sleeper.
  • Neither of us have pain or existing conditions.

Did you ever get a response to this or make a decision on your mattress?

I tried the Avocado Green Boxtop and EOS Pillowtop (soft foam/medium foam/soft coil) in a showroom today and enjoyed both of them. I am also looking to replicate these via the DIY route.
