Time for a new mattress after BB Aloe Alexis

Hi dinobats,
You are in excellent hands, and the mattresses you are considering are some very good choices.

The @DLX Premier Hybrid
The @BackScience 1 or 2
@Yawnder is an excellent choice too as a showroom to purchase. I live in NJ and bought my Plank Luxe from them. I was over 250 lbs at the time, now down to 220 at 6’ tall. If you go to Yawnder, test the Titan Plus Elite and Helix Plus Elite (the Helix has a zippered comfort layer, so you never really need to replace the base, perhaps the comfort layer down the road, with the same support system as the Titan). I think you will enjoy the Titan Plus Elite over the Luxe. I have mentioned this many times: despite loving the Plank Luxe, which is the firmest of the 3Z Brands mattresses, when I attended the Las Vegas Market and BB was first introducing the Titan Plus Elite, I was so impressed that I ordered one for my guest room. It offers a nice balance of plus-sized support with a nice luxury-firm cover/panel.

The @DLX offers a zippered comfort layer, and if needed, you can split it internally in a king or a queen. You can even split materials, perhaps you like latex and your husband prefers HD polyfoam. I specifically purchased the DLX Premier Hybrid for my mother-in-law due to the many health and physical issues she had faced.

@BackScience, you have a doctor in the house. Dr. Rick, DC, designed these mattresses for all types of sleepers, and they offer lumbar-support options that you can modify on the fly. The BS 3 may be a bit too soft for the two of you, but the 1 and 2 may be just what the doctor ordered.

Keep in mind you want a mattress that offers enough support so that if the comfort layer you prefer is a little more cushy, the support layer will kick in and keep you in alignment. You will certainly find that there are a lot of plus-sized options out there, but you don’t want to become overwhelmed either. The choices you have already researched are great choices.

Also, when you get your new mattress, it may be time to consider a new grouping of pillows. The firmness, support, and sleep position will dictate the best option for your pillow collection. I say collection because having just one pillow may not be enough. Many folks, like myself, rotate between pillows and the various support they offer, depending on the conditions one sleeps in. If you have a cold and a stuffy nose, you may not like the loft of a particular, even favorite pillow. One pillow I love is the @EuropeanSleep Oxygen-Pillow, but as great as it is, I still have 3 or 4 others (yeah, I am a bit overzealous when it comes to my pillows) that I have in rotation depending on how my body is feeling on a particular night before going to sleep. Look, most folks have more than one pair of athletic shoes for different activities, pillows are no different. You can convert a good night’s sleep into a great night’s sleep with the swap of a pillow. My pillow thread

Remember, with any mattress you choose, it is crucial you opt for a quality, robust, and rigid/sturdy foundation. If you take a peek at the @MattressFoundations Terra foundation, this will offer you a glimpse at the benchmark you should be looking for. If you already have an adjustable base with solid decking, any of these mattresses should be fine.

Hopefully, this gives you a good start.
