Topper Advice - spondy

I purchased the Roma mattress years ago. Since then I’ve gotten remarried so now both of us are sleeping on it. I’m looking for topper advice.

I am 5’4”, 150lbs, and now primarily a back sleeper. My husband is 5’10”, 210lbs, and a side sleeper. He also has spondylolisthesis.

He’s always in pain. I’m starting to wake up with more pain as well. We were using the medium side, but I have just flipped over to the firm side.

Is there a suggested topper that might provide a bit more cushioning, while keeping the support we both need?

Sure thing! I think a 2" medium Talalay topper has the best chance of working for both of you.

Due to pricing and coupons, I had to stray and went with Latex Mattress Factory. Put everything together inside a waterproof encapsulated cover (pet issues) and finally got to try it out. I went with the 2” Talalay in soft. I had been using a thin pillow under my normal one, but found it was no longer needed due to sinking in some on the new topper. We both woke up in a lot less pain this morning, so I think the soft talalay over the firm Dunlop was what we needed. I had trained myself to sleep on my back due to hip pain from sleeping on my side, but found with this new combo I was comfortable in all positions. I think I’m going to get to keep using my Roma mattress for many more years now - only reason to change would be if we changed mattress sizes.

OK great! That’s awesome news and I’m glad it worked out!
