A long time ago I slept on a bed that I fell in love with at the Inn at Rancho Santa Fe. I checked out the mattress and it was a latex base with a down feather pillow top. The latex mattress did not have a cover on it (like you see with normal mattresses), and I cannot recall what the platform/box spring was. I found out who made the mattress and I guess they also hand make the box spring so it actually springs. I didn’t like that part so I just went with the solid handmade latex mattress. My problem is, it has a cover on it and I am wondering if that is making me sleep hot? I also wanted to really build my own mattress to sleep. like a Tempurpedic because I actually do love those mattresses, but everything I read has scared me away from the chemical component - although I never had a problem when I used to sleep on it. I like the feel of melting into a mattress and not feeling someone moving beside me. I’m not really sure how to build this?
