I’m trying to decide between DLX latex Lux and Engineered Sleep duo Latex(standard version). 170 lb primary stomach sleeper senior with bad back bad knees. Will be having knee replacement which will put me sleeping on back for 4-6 weeks. Like a mattress medium firm leaning firm with good edge support. Tried a couple of mattresses locally. Liked Natuepedic EOS classic firm coils medium top not enough for the cost$$$$. Any thoughts
If you liked the classic EOS you should try out the Naturepedic Serenade Firm. The Serenade is a non customizable version of the EOS. At a retail price of 2k it has a similar feel and is a good value.
Appreciate the response. It’s interesting you mentioned that. I tried the seranade firm and liked it. Perhaps I’m being fussy but I was a little disappointed with the edge support. I did like that it’s organic. Perhaps I should take one more look. Also it’s 11 in. I have 10 in cp rogers platform bed. I’m 5ft 8 in not a deal breaker but a little more height makes it easier to get out of bed with bad knees. Do you find the edge support when sitting on edge lacking.
I have visited engineered sleep. The latex plus was my 2nd favorite of the duo models since i like a few inches of very soft latex in the top. The original duo latex is very good too. Just be sure you like a good solid feel underneath. They use the firm texas pocket springs coil base, and put 1.5" of high density foam above those to soften the feel a bit. And the base is flippable.
The support is very solid with the pressure relief from the latex on top.
I think the spring system in the DLX is a bolsa edge elite, but I’m not fully sure. I do know that the 14" version probably has a stronger coil system than the 12".
Really what you need to do is just look at both beds. Examine the covers and the total package and price. The top cover has a good effect on how the bed feels. For the dlx i recommend medium in the latex version.
Both will give very similar feel concerning support and pressure relief.

Based on what you’ve described, I’d lean toward our LatexLux 12" rather than the 14" model. Since you’re primarily a stomach sleeper and liked the EOS with the firm coil unit, I think the 12" would be the better fit. It uses a shorter pocket coil that provides a firmer, more supportive feel, which is generally better suited for stomach sleepers. As an added benefit, the shorter profile also provides slightly better edge support.
For the latex firmness, I’d recommend starting with the Medium. It’s our most versatile option and gives you the most flexibility. Ordered Engineered Sleep Duo Latex I’ll see how it goes. Never ordered a mattress online before so I was a bit nervous about taking a a chance. I do feel it’s an educated chance. Looking forward to experiencing a new mattress and taking a break from any further research Will update at a later date
