I happened to stumble upon these guys during one of many late night mattress searches and found the look and construction of the hybrid to be quite interesting! Latex, Microcoils and different foam layers.

Looks like they may have a photo of a cut-out of it on their facebook page but other than their website and facebook I could not find much else about these guys online?
Has anyone ever heard of them?

Here at our factory we have played with the Posture fil coils from Hickory Springs and could find nothing special about the feel vs. all latex. Because the springs are like an accordion we could not integrate them into any of our constructions without gluing them into place and the latex too so that means nothing could be changed or rearranged to tweak the firmness level if necessary. The foam base they use is quite firm and you may experience sinking all the way through the top layers and hitting that firm layer.
Coils are relatively cheap compared to the cost of latex and an inch and a half is barely enough latex to feel any benefits which is why I’m not crazy about the build of this particular bed. You also should find out how long they have been in business because the bed in a box companies are coming and going like flies right now and if you have a problem down the road they might not be around to help you out.
Everyone that has bought our hybrid mattress has had a great sleep. This mattress is endorsed by our fellow chiropractors. Even they have bought this bed for their family and friends. You should sink relatively 4-6 inches into the bed and you may hit the base, but it is unlikely. The point of the two layers is two give you support and comfort, so that only the heaviest parts of your body actually sink, thus aligning your spine. I hope you don’t mind a bit of constructive criticism. Personally, I concur with Ken/ Arizona Premium’s view on the assembly of the bed, AP has built many kinds of products and has experimented with many kinds of beds, always looking to add value to the customer experience.
Like Ken, I am also curious to know the experience that Z Box has in the mattress industry? The Facebook profile shows the Z Box startup sometimes Sept 2016. As Ken mentioned this can often be a good indicator of the experience behind product design, future customer support, and warranty claims if something does not go as expected down the road.

I always welcome the criticism as we are all looking to give customers the best mattress possible. Z Box Mattress is only three years old, but our president, Lynn Houston, has worked in hickory for 30+ years with companies like Hickory Springs and Premium Cushions as part of their sales unit and some product development. Some of his experience is from the bedding industry while the other is from the furniture industry. He actually just got finished getting the companies ready for the market that is going on here in Hickory.
As for the bed all of our customers except one or two have loved it. We have five or ten chiropractors sleeping on it and they have all given great reviews. When it comes to our coils they are individually pocketed, so we are not gluing the coils per say, but the fabric they are in. We have two versions of the hybrid, the standard and the firmness, which gives the customer a difference in firmness and support. Given that I am not sure what you mean about rearranging the firmness layer.

Would you have time to provide more details about the densities and ILDs of the layers so that consumers can make an informed decision, didn’t see those specifics on the site?
No Problem. I would put our top layer of latex at 15-20 ILD. Glad you pointed out the layers of coils at the top too. The way the we space both layers on to on one another is strategic to disperse someones weight over the whole bed. We have over 4,000 coils in our bed that are individually pocketed. The two layers are different sizes so the coils interact in a way that both cushions and supports your pressure points. For instance a top layer coil pushes in between two coils on the second layer, so that your weight does not go through our comfort layer. The base is a high density base over 1.5. It is very tough to push our mattress all the way down to the base even with one hand using all your force, so any body part isn’t going to have that much weight. I weigh about 180 pounds and I sink about an inch down on the mattress. We have customers that are 200+ and the mattress works great for them. They probably sink about 2 inches. We have a few chiropractors that sleep on our mattress too. Like other mattresses it does help align your spine and relieve those pressure points.
