$100 off $500+ Tuft & Needle Purchase - AMEX Credit Card Holders

Hi all,

I don’t know if this is relevant to the forum, but I just noticed AMEX has a $100 off $500+ purchase from Tuft & Needle promotion going on.

This brings the total cost of a Tuft & Needle Queen Mattress down to $500.
$600
($39) - 6.5% membership discount
$39 - 8.5% NYS Sales Tax
$600 shipped to door
($100) AMEX Promotion
$500 total cost

For those who don’t have an AMEX CC, you can sign up for a variety of cards however the current best promotion on the market is the new Starwood Preferred Guest Credit Card 30,000 point bonus offer.
ADMIN NOTE: Removed Footprint to Discontinued Product | Archived Footprint: American Express Credit Cards, Rewards, Travel and Business Services

The SPG bonus points are especially valuable when redeemed for hotel nights at Starwood properties.

I believe 6.5% of $600 is $39. But thank you for sharing this discount. This might be what puts me over the edge to try out T&N!

A pretty good discount for a good mattress!

How to apply the 6.5% membership discount, please?

How do I get the 6.5%. Never heard of Tuft and Needle but seems to have good review. I just opened a new AX card. I will get some credit. So this is worth a try.

This is a pretty good deal. Thanks for the heads up!

Hi m12w,

Thanks for the heads up … I appreciate it

It would certainly be of interest for those that have an eligible AMEX card and that are interested in purchasing a Tuft & Needle mattress.

@ Hwang and theglo22,

All you need to do is call or email Tuft & Needle after a purchase to let them know you are a member of the forum here and they will credit the discount to the card that you used for the purchase within a few days.

They are one of the new “breed” of what I call “simplified choice” mattresses. You can read more about simplified choice online mattresses in general in post #1 here and about Tuft & Needle and some of the other simplified choice mattresses in post #2 here in the same topic.

Great Deal!

Thanks a lot for posting this. I’m in the research phase of getting a new mattress and the T&N is on my short list.

Note that you need to add the coupon to your Amex card to redeem it. You can do so by logging in to your Amex account and looking under Amex Offers and Benefits.

Hi I just ordered my new king size Tuft and Needle mattress! I have been researching for way too long. I feel that with the the reviews from everywhere and the return policy I can’t lose. The best part is that I feel this is the right mattress for me. Thank you Mattress Underground ! Now I am looking into how to apply the $100 credit to my Amex account!

Thanks for the heads up. :woohoo:

Hi Tull77,

Congratulations on your new mattress

I’m looking forward to your comments and feedback when you receive it and have had the chance to sleep on it for a bit.

Great deal! Just setting up a new apartment and need to move us off the IKEA sofa bed. After a poor experience with Leeds Mattress back in 2008,. I’m dreading shopping. I’m leaning toward T&N but need to do more research. Hoping for a better experience!

Hi orkan,

Welcome to the site

I’m assuming that you’ve read the mattress shopping tutorial here but two of the most important links in the tutorial that I would especially make sure you read are post #2 here which has more about the different ways to choose a suitable mattress (either locally or online) that is the best “match” for you in terms of “comfort” and PPP (Posture and alignment, Pressure relief, and Personal preferences) that can help you assess and minimize the risks of making a choice that doesn’t turn out as well as you hoped for and post #13 here which has more about the most important parts of the “value” of a mattress purchase which can help you make more meaningful quality/value comparisons between mattresses in terms of suitability (how well you will sleep), durability (how long you will sleep well), and the overall value of a mattress compared to your other finalists (based on all the parts of your personal value equation that are most important to you).

There is also more about the Tuft & Needle and some of the other simplified choice mattresses in post #2 here of the simplified choice topic.

Tuft & Needle is certainly one of many good quality/value options available to you and I’m looking forward to finding out what you end up deciding … and of course any comments or questions you may have along the way as well.

Thank you OP and other commenters. I was on the fence about buying a mattress but with the discounts and Amex offer its almost too good to pass up.

Thanks for all the info, Phoenix. There is certainly a great wealth of information here. I hope I can glean some of it as I make my purchase.

T&N’s “transperancy” approach reminds me a lot of the apparel company, Everlane. It comes off gimmicky but the overwelhming positive reviews has changed my perceptions.

Hi orkan,

While other people’s comments or reviews about the knowledge, service, and guidance of a particular business can certainly be helpful … I would avoid using other people’s experiences or reviews on a mattress (either positive or negative) or review sites in general as a reliable source of information or guidance about how you will feel on the same mattress or how suitable or how durable a mattress may be for you and in many if not most cases they can be more misleading than helpful because a mattress that would be a perfect choice for one person or even a larger group of people may be completely unsuitable for someone else to sleep on (see post #13 here).

When you are making an online purchase I would put a lot more trust in the trial period so that you can confirm a mattress is a good match for you in terms of PPP (Posture and alignment, Pressure relief, and Personal preferences) based on your own experience regardless of how anyone else may feel on the same mattress).

If the Tuft & Needle does turn out to be a “good enough” match for you in terms of PPP then it also uses good quality and durable materials so there would be no weak links in the mattress that would reduce the durability or useful life of the mattress unless you are in an unusually high weight range (around the mid 200’s or so or higher).

Thanks for the post OP. Going to pick one up tonight!
