Interested in the latexlux

A few advantages of the LatexLux is that it comes in two heights, a 12" and a 14" using either a 6" or an 8" coil support system. The DLX also offers 4 firmness latex levels, and the ability to split the internal latex layer in a queen and a king.

When “testing” a mattress, a 15 - 30 minute lay down in the show room does not quite reveal the exact experience you are going to have at home in your bedroom under the climate conditions in your room. The “Test” may help you eliminate what is clearly too soft, and offer a sense of how lying on latex feels verses other comfort layer materials, such a memory foam, HD foam, HR foam, and natural fibers. It has a buoyant feel, conforms to the body nicely without feeling like you are stuck in the mattress, and fosters nice full body support and alignment.

However, a mattress system and comfort does not stop with just the mattress. The foundation is quite critical. You want to ensure you have a foundation or adjustable foundation that if slatted, offers a rigid, with not flex slat, spaced less than 3" apart, or if an adjustable base, one that provides a solid base rather than a metal grid style surface.

For example, I have been testing a mattress that I had on the floor in my finished basement testing room. When I moved it to the guest bedroom, the mattress felt noticeably different on a semiflex box spring (even with a solid, but thin bunkie board on the semiflex). The mattress still performed nicely in both settings, but there was a difference. You need to ask what foundation was being used in the showroom you tested the mattress, to understand what you might expect when you get it home to your particular bed frame set up. I outline some reasons not to skimp on your bed frame here. It is not an endorsement of any particular manufacturer, just some that came to mind as I was writing the post.

Your pillow will also pay a starring role in your comfort on the mattress and can be the difference between a great night’s sleep and a stiff neck and sore back. So you may need some time to adjust on any new bedding combination you build. Here is a little diddy regarding pillows.

@DLX customer service is among the best in the industry, their trial and warranties are excellent. It would definitely be worth a chat with them directly to go over your specific questions on the performance of their latex lux options.

All the best,

Maverick
