Hey guys, I have been lurking around this site for quite some time throughout my mattress hunt. I have finally found a fairly priced mattress that feels very comforting and upon reviewing the Mattress basics seems to fit nice. Now, the only issue was that they wouldn’t give me complete spec’s (it was the owners brother filling in for the day). The information i did receive was that it is a 10" all natural Talalay latex mattress, with 36lb Latex Core and 2 x 2" 26lb Comfort layer’s and has Organic Cotton Bamboo Cover. Given that information, it seems to have dedicated spec’s. The offer was $1800 for a King with foundation and 20yr warranty. He also said the manufacturer’s are Corsicana. Hi julesj88,
On the face of it these seem like good quality materials and good value and although they don’t mention whether the Talalay is blended or 100% natural (I would suspect it’s blended although that doesn’t correspond to a 26 ILD layer that is made by Latex International) but both are good quality materials.
I would be a little cautious though because as far as I know Corsicana doesn’t make an all latex mattress (Although Royal Bedding which they also list on their site does) and I would want to confirm the specs.
An easy way to confirm whether there are any other types of materials in your mattress besides latex would be to look at the law tag which will list the materials in your mattress as a percentage of weight (although it won’t tell you the type of latex). If your mattress is all latex it won’t list any other types of foam such as polyurethane.
I would wait until you can talk with the owner and confirm the materials but if you confirm everything to your satisfaction then it certainly looks like it would be a good quality/value option.

Hey Phoenix, thank you for your response and helpful information. I appreciate you putting time and dedication into this site, it is definitely the go-to site for mattresses.
So I spoke with the owner, and he assured me that the mattress is 100% Talalay and 100% natural, and stated that it is comparible to the Latex Bliss brand. I will make another trip out to the store this week, and check out the label that you mentioned.
Thank you again for your help, I will keep this topic updated in case someone here/near austin, tx checks out sleep-rite.
Hi julesj88,
That’s good news and if the law tag confirms it then I would certainly consider it.
I’m looking forward to your update

So we finalized our purchase at Sleep-rite Austin with the King 8" Talalay Latex Mattress ($1500). It’s a bit more firm, however it was a great buy. The label said 100% Latex. It had bamboo cover, and it feels amazing, I haven’t slept so great… ever (considering I upgraded from a 20 yr old coil mattress). Well, if you’re in Austin, I recommend giving them a shot, they don’t have many latex mattresses, but the one’s that are available are pretty good value/quality.
Hi julesj88,
It sounds like you made a great choice … and congratulations on your new mattress
I’m looking forward to your feedback once you’ve had the chance to sleep on it for a bit.
