Marthas Vineyard All-Latex Mattress sold by Paramount Bedding in VA.

Has anyone heard of this mattress and/or company?

Hi takijones,

You can see my overall thoughts about Paramount in post #9 here but I would also read posts #5 and #6 here which indicates that they are not transparent about some of the materials they use in their mattresses (in this case the density of the polyfoam). They may be more open about any memory foam in their mattresses or provide the type and blend of any latex but I would avoid any mattress where the retailer you are dealing with can’t provide you with meaningful information about the type and quality of all the layers and components in any mattress you are considering. If there is only “around an inch or so” of material in the upper layers that is unknown then I would consider this to be OK but once it reaches about 2" or more I would tend to avoid the mattress because there is no way to identify any lower quality and less durable materials that would be a “weak link” in the mattress and the risk of buying a mattress that will soften or break down too quickly would be much too high. A mattress is only as good as the construction and quality of all the materials inside it no matter which manufacturer’s label is on the cover.

A forum search on Paramount (you can just click this) will bring up more information and feedback about them.

Just in case you haven’t read it already … post #1 here has all the basic information, steps, and guidelines that can help you make the best possible choices.

Thank you for your reply. I checked out their website and there is not much information.

Hi takijones,

I should have mentioned as well that you can also check the law tag to see if there are any other materials in the mattress besides latex. While it wo’t tell you anything about the design of the mattress or where any other materials may be in the layering or their quality … it will at least confirm whether the mattress is “all latex”.
