Stress-O-Pedic wants to be transparent about what is in our mattresses

:woohoo:
Firstly, I’d like to say I’m impressed with the amount of information on this blog! It’s a great idea and a fabulous resource, considering a mattress is such a big and important purchase. Secondly, I’d just like to give consumers the resources they need in order to find out exactly what is in our mattresses. If you call us here at the factory and ask our VP of sales “hey, what’s in your mattresses?” you might not get exactly the answer you’re looking for. Not that we don’t want you to know, but simply, he will go in depth with someone and explain everything about the mattress and they will respond, “oh I just wanted to know if there was foam in it.” So if you’re one of the people on this blog that really wants to do their research you can contact these Stress-O-Pedic sales reps and they will tell you exactly what you want to know (in as much detail as you want), and even where you can buy the bed. Keep in mind that we sell different collections to many dealers, so if you only go in one store you probably haven’t seen all we have to offer. Thanks for giving a local retailer on the west coast a chance!

Hi AshleyStress-O-Pedic,

I’m both impressed and grateful for your post on the Mattress Forum!

As you know one of the missing links in much of the mainstream industry is manufacturers that make this kind of information easily available to their customers so that those who are informed enough to know the importance of the quality of the materials in a mattress can make more informed buying decisions and make more meaningful comparisons between mattresses.

One of the goals of this site is transparency in the industry and you are one of the manufacturers that is clearly leading the way in this. To me this also indicates a genuine interest in your customers and the kind of customer service that I only wish all manufacturers would provide to their retailers and consumers.

As you also know I called you earlier to thank you in person but I also wanted to reply to your post here so that the forum members know that Stress-O-Pedic is one of the better manufacturers that would be well worth considering in a mattress purchase.

Thanks again for taking the time to let us know that you are one of the “good guys” in the industry

Hello,

I’ve been attempting to take advantage of the offer of transparency to find out about mattresses available at one of my local stores (mathews mattress, sacramento) that are manufactured by Stress-O-Pedic. Unfortunately my attempts to contact the sales reps listed on the website as instructed in the first post have not been fruitful. I was told that that is proprietary information and I need special permission from the local store in order for them to disclose that. When I spoke to the local store they told me they had no problem with Stress-O-Pedic answering my questions. Even with that, nothing more from Stress-O-Pedic.

I figured I post here to let other consumers know stress-o-pedic doesn’t seem to be as transparent as was claimed. At least not in my case.

Hi ghaith13,

I’m sorry you’re having some trouble finding out the information about a Stress-O-Pedic mattress.

Did you email every single sale representative? I see there are currently five listed, plus another email for customer service. Also, did you refer to their post here on the site stating that they would be transparent to members here of the forum?

I would send the same email to all six addresses on their web site and be sure to bring up what they’ve posted here in the past where they pledged to provide specifics on their products and see if that helps you out.

I’ll be interested in knowing what responses you receive.

I initially did reach out to all the sales reps listed on the website and have been working with the sales rep assigned to my area of the country. Been going back and forth since mid December. I have followed up pointing to this post hoping that it will help.

Hi ghaith13,

Thanks for the follow-up. If you learn of anything else, please let me know.

There comes a point if you work too long to get the information from a company and they’re not forthcoming, I’d advise that you not consider them, as purchasing a mattress without knowing the componentry isn’t something I’d recommend.

Hello! I spoke with our sales rep. The whole run around asking the store to call him was to make sure that you were a customer and not a competitor, since you asked many questions that consumers do not ask (haha) and that none of the sales reps at Matthews called him.
He also says that he emailed you his cell phone # and would like you to give him a call.
Thanks

Thank you for your kind response. I was told by the rep at Mathews Mattress store that he did in fact call you guys. I’m not sure where the disconnect may have happened there. As far as my questions, they came from the mattress underground site, located here:

I’ll be happy to give him a call. Thank you for your assistance.

Hi AshleyStress-O-Pedic,

Thank you for the followup and help with ghaith13! I appreciate you monitoring the forum.

I am so thankful I found this forum and this thread in particular. I came across a Stress-o-pedic mattress in a local mattress shop and was happy to see that I could get more information to inform my purchase decision. I reached out to the sales rep for my area and he was very helpful in answering all my questions.

Thank you!
